Exposing Zebra's biggest fraud

As you see in the video above the CEO of Zebra claims the Zebra Motionworks system tracks "All players, All Teams, All Games."   This is not true and the SEC can easily verify this fact.  For over ten years Zebra Technologies NASDAQ:ZBRA) has promoted a NFL player tracking technology as if it worked perfectly but it turns out never worked as described ever. Instead Zebra promoted the product to pump it’s stock. Worse is knowing it does not work it still continues to promote the NFL Motion works application. Thus defrauding investors and possibly causing physical harm. Zebra uses this promotion as the flagship example of their identification and engineering prowess. 

For example, see this recent video where Zebra and it’s CEO claims among other Zebra employees,  “All Players, All Teams, All Games” are tracked. But this is a lie that the CEO is knowledgeable. Internal engineering communication shows that to this day the system is still not functioning correctly and never did. 

What is disturbing is this video describes the motion works in absolute terms as a great success. Zebra claims the system is installed in at all NFL teams but, only 30% of them have the system. Secondly, it is not used in all games nor by all players. Alike company that made false RFID tracking claims was Impinj (NASDAQ: Pi) and they were fined and paid $20 million by the SEC for stock pumping. The Zebra falsehood is far more serious and as such warrants a greater fine. Such a fine can do the public good and be put at good use.

The technology is Ultra Wide Band. This is a band we here have experience using ourselves. It is exotic and new age. The investigation should also address whether there are adverse health hazards. The system is reported to work in the 5 GHZ and 6 GHZ microwave band.  The Zebra transponders are worn on players chest right above the heart. Has this been tested safe? Who did the tests? Additionally, as you can see the antennas are directly overhead spectators. Spectators are being radiated. Has this been tested safe? Lastly, in our own business we have made proposals to the Boeing wireless committee and know the importance of having them check radio emissions around planes. Seahawks stadium is right under the landing flight path to SeaTac airport. How many times have you looked down from your plane and seen the Stadium not far below? Seems like the system is a big experiment and the lab rats are real people.

Lastly, we have been disappointed in both the NFL and less so with the Seahawks.  When we made the complaint months ago the Seahawks referred us  to the NFL.  The NFL has done nothing and seems to hide from the  issue. They took money from Zebra. Certainly, Zebra has breached it’s Sponsorship contracts and the NFL could do something about it.  The Stadium Commission a public entity has been helpful, and gave us a reporting link to the NFL. However, there has been no response from the NFL other than a we received  your complaint email.   The Seahawks response is pointing fingers but one would think they would care about this greatly. It impacts their players and false representations are being made on their behalf.  

Most curious is even though we have been vocal and this involves tens of millions of dollars not one person, not one entity has denied our allegations.  Not even Zebra.
